One of the people I love most lives over 10 thousand kilometers away. Besides the annual long and tiring journey – at least two airports, 16 hours of flight and another three to get to our home town – me and my brother try to be always in touch through the internet.

Last year, when he came to spend Christmas with all our family here in Brazil, I could show him for the first time my new hobby and the few projects that I had already produced. Because he is always traveling around the world with your laptop, I offered him a unique laptop sleeve to protect his survival item. He liked the idea, but did not believe that, in fact, I would make present.

Even before he returned to the United States, we agreed that it should be inspired by the Gossamer - that huge red monster with white tennis shoes that is always trying to get Bugs Bunny. With the theme set, I needed to find a fabric that looked like the monster texture!

Sewing it was easy – I used a similar idea that I found in other website - But because I had to use a hairy fabric and summer here is very hot I had to postpone the project for winter season.

After I finished it, the monster was sent back to his origins – Hollywood. Once my brother sends me some pictures I’ll post your pictures by the City of Angels.

Uma das pessoas que mais amo mora a mais de 10 mil quilômetros de distância. Além da anual viagem longa e cansativa – pelo menos dois aeroportos, umas 16 horas de voo mais três de carro até chegar à nossa cidade natal – eu e meu irmão tentamos estar sempre em contato através da internet.

No ano passado, quando ele veio passar o Natal com toda familia aqui no Brasil, pude mostrar a ele pela primeira vez meu novo hobby e as poucas peças que já havia produzido. Como ele viaja pelo mundo inteiro com seu notebook, sugeri fazer uma capa inusitada para conservar este “item desobrevivencia”. Ele gostou da ideia, mas não acreditou que eu faria, de fato, o presente.

Ainda antes de ele voltar para os Estados Unidos, definimos que o projeto deveria ser inspirado no Gossamer  – aquele monstro vermelho enorme e de tênis branco que tenta pegar o Pernalonga. Com o tema definido, fui atrás de um tecido que se parecesse com a textura do monstro!

Costurar foi bem fácil – eu me baseei um uma idéia parecida que encontrei em outro site – mas como tive que usar um tecido de pelúcia e o verão aqui é muito quente, tive que adiar o projeto para o inverno.

Após terminar, mandei o monstro de volta as origems – Hollywood. Quando meu irmão enviar algumas fotos eu publico imagens dele na Cidade dos Anjos.
