Before sending my brother’s monster laptop sleeve by mail, I took it to work – after all, I was testing the seams and checking if they were strong enough. It was then that one of my colleagues looked at it and asked me to make one to his girlfriend for Valentine’s Day (and there only a few days until then).

Although I was happy with the request (which, after all, was a kind of compliment), I said it was very close to the date, and I could not do it so fast. Still, he insisted, and ordered the same way, although it would take a few days more.

So I asked him to choose the motive – after all, could not make the same character again. He said that his girlfriend liked frogs, so I went out to search for inspiration. Among several interesting patterns that I found on Google, what most caught my attention was Keroppi: the cute frog friend of Hello Kitty.

I tried to reproduce Keroppi’s facial expression in the project – large eyes and expressive mouth in V, bow tie and rosy cheeks. So cute! I used a green furry to make the cover – besides matching the frog’s color, it is pretty thick and helps protect the laptop.

I have started a collection of characters as laptop sleeves. What is your suggestion for my next project?

Antes de enviar pelo correio a pasta de notebook que fiz para meu irmão, eu a levei para o trabalho – afinal, eu estava testando as costuras e vendo se estavam forte o suficiente. Foi então que um dos meus colegas olhou e pediu para eu fazer uma para dar à namorada no Dia dos Namorados (e era dali alguns dias).

Apesar de ter ficado feliz com o pedido (que, afinal de contas, era uma espécie de elogio), eu disse que estava muito perto da data, e eu não conseguiria fazê-la tão rápido. Mesmo assim, ele insistiu e encomendou da mesma forma, ainda que demorasse uns dias mais.

Então, pedi que ele escolhe escolhesse o motivo – afinal, não poderia fazer o mesmo personagem outra vez. Meu colega contou que a namorada dele gostava de sapos, então saí a pesquisar um modelo. Entre vários desenhos interessantes que encontrei no Google, o que mais chamou minha atenção foi o Keroppi, o simpático sapinho da turma da Hello Kitty.

Tentei reproduzir a espressão do rosto de Keroppi no projeto – olhos grandes e expressivos, boca em V, gravata borboleta e bochechas róseas. Uma graça! Usei uma pelúcia bem peluda de cor verde para fazer a capa – além de combinar com a cor do sapinho, ela é bem grossa e ajuda na proteção do notebook.

Já comecei uma coleção de personagens nas capas para notebook. Qual é a sua sugestão para o próximo projeto?
